Local iron ore deposits meant Rugles played an important role in the production of pins, needles and nails from the 11th to the 19th Century. You will enjoy visiting Rugles for its unique heritage, including Notre-Dame-Outre l’Eau, one of the oldest churches in France, the town’s forges and furnaces, and numerous examples of typical Norman architecture.

Tourist circuit around the town – 2.5 km – 1h30.

Departure: Parc François Mitterrand.

Must-sees: The Church of Saint-Germain, Natura 2000-listed meadows, Rugl’Art’s frescoes.
