retour Eglise Saint Just – Church

église_bourthThe church in the village of Bourth was built in the medieval time showing a nave and rectangular chancel. The south wall still shows today remains of the original building made of local “grison” stones.

During the 16th century, the church was nearly totally rebuilt. Renaissance and gothic style openings allow light to come in. Other windows have been created in the 19th century.

The square shape tower was built in the middle of the 16th century but was totally rebuilt in the 19th century in bricks and flint.

Also 15th century decorative elements can be seen inside the church.

Open to the public everyday from 8am to 6pm.
