retour Eglise Saint-Christophe – Church

église st christophe (1)Saint-Christophe Church was originally built in the 12th century. From that period, two roman style arched windows in “grison”, a typical local iron based conglomerate, are still visible.

The church was then remodeled several times over the centuries (16th, 17th and 19th) and was finally restored in 2005 and 2007.

The bell tower presents an octogonal steeple. A brick and blue color stone porch has been built at the entrance. Inside is a baroque style altar from the 18th century. On each side, two 16th century statues can be admired. One represents Saint-Christophe, the travelers’saint; the other one is Saint-Jacques, the saint of the pilgrims.

Open to the public everyday from 10 am to 7 pm (until 5 pm during winter).
