retour Domaine Edouard de Chambray

SONY DSCThe main building, built above kitchens of a manor (15th century), goes back to the 16th and 18th centuries. The entrance postern and the chapel are the remains of the 15th century. The whole building was remodelled in the 19th century by Jacques de Chambray. Around the château, you find an old apple press, an arboretum, a 79 acre park in which a small charterhouse was built in 1740. The Chateau was given in 1944 to the Ministry of Agriculture by the last Marquis de Chambray. It nowadays harbours an agricultural high school and a “Centre de formation” for adults.
