Château de Montigny sur Avre

Built in the 17th century, first by the family of Laval, then by Joseph Durey de Sauroy, this castle was acquired in 1838 by an ancestor of the present owners. It is the birthplace of François de Laval (1623-1708), 1st Bishop in New France. It has been classified as a Historic Monument since 1963.

The Château de Montigny-sur-Avre offers you the opportunity to stay in a remarkable monument. You have access to the left part of the castle on 2 floors where a duplex was created. The Château offers 40 beds. A lounge with billiards and table football is at the disposal of the visitors. The Château, located on the edge of the river Avre, has 1500 hectares of forest and as much farmland where there are many horses: enough to offer you beautiful walks.

Guided tour of the Château and reception hall on site.
